Living positive each and every day is not a walk in the park. You face all the odds from unlikely quarters, some are your friends, colleagues, family etc. Everyday I receive phonecalls on crosscutting issues from meds stockouts, #GBV, lost to follow, none adherence to #HIV and #TB meds, human rights violations and supporting Grassroot advocates.I do all this on voluntary basis thanks to organizations like @KELINKenya, @gnpplus through Candlelight Memorial for entrusting me as National Coordinator for Kenya. National Aids Control Council Kenya 🇰🇪 and Centre for Global Health and Research, Kisumu Kenya 🇰🇪 as a representative of people living with HIV in the Community Advisory Board
My heart is in the Grassroots . Unknown to many this is where we need a lot of investment unfortunately there is none or people with power do not simply care to tap the wealth of knowledge in communities as they are academic
. Mere talk and lots of literature without practical aspect is failing us.There is need for reorganization for the infected and affected communities at the #Grassroots to take charge and do away with #AIDS by 2030. Let communities be at the centre not the sidelines. Don't give up the fight
Your work is appreciated. Touching lives at the community level is what makes the whole difference.
