Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) Natural Resource Forum 21st to the 24th February 2022 at The Grand Royal Swiss Hotel, Kisumu in partnership with Kelin (Kenya Ethical and Legal Issues Network ) and the National Land Commission(NLC) the forum brings all stake holders together to deliberate on conservation and management, meaningful engagement of community members in harnessing natural resources in the region to spur social and economic well being of communities in the region and beyond through partnership .Among Key persons present were the CEO LREB,CECs from LREB Counties , ,Non State Actors from etc

1. Consult dialogue with stakeholders in the natural resource space
2. Capture the experiences and identify policy intervention opportunities relevant to the lake regional block
LREB presents the socioeconomic aspirations of 14 counties in the Lake Basin Region and this are Bungoma, Busia, Homa Bay, Kakamega, Kisii, Kisumu, Migori, Nyamira, Siaya,Trans Nzoia, Kericho,Bomet, Nandi and Vihiga. They not only have similar ecological zones and natural resources; they have analogous cultural histories that date back to historical migrations and trading routes. Also bearing in mind that this is a region that is one of the most densely populated regions of Kenya with over 14 million people which constitute about 30% of the population in Kenya.
The main objective LREB through coordinated efforts, intend to promote, mobilize resources, innovation and enhancement of equitable economic integration in the lake region to ensure sustainable development also tap to their natural resources thus designed an economic blueprint for guidance .Natural resources are resources exist without actions of humankind, they include source of value characteristics for use such commercial, industrial use, aesthetic, scientific interest cultural. It includes all sunlight, atmosphere, water, land, minerals ,vegetation& animal life.
